Winds aloft looked light. Lapse rate looked good above 3000 ft. and thought I was set up to go BIG. Got water check, radio...broken....check, cell phone...broken..check, wallet...kind find it.. check, call friends..no time got to go so I can launch early to get through the pass!!
Soooo waited while it blew down at launch then zero and zero what the....... it should be on by now, while I watched the surf crackin at Hammonds. Ahhhhhhh, wrong call! A bunch of paraglider pilots came out all thinking it would be killer and ended up saying it looked a lot better on paper. Still, it finally turned "on" and I was getting to 2800 max and 2900 once. Not enough to get around on but still stayed up for an hour and a half before trying to get to the holly hills and not hooking it and landed at Parma.
Many people had fun and a few flew out to the beach and of course it was a beautiful day. So, Hammer, you don't have to pick me up in Ojai today.
